* Bodies of three drowned in Ekgal Oya found

July 08, Colombo: Bodies of three of the four people went missing this morning in Ekgal Oya in Ampara after their boat capsized have been found by divers.

The bodies have been sent to the Ampara Hospital, the police said.

A group of teachers including the Principal and students of the Kandana-Badulla Siri Seevali Vidyalaya had come on a trip to Damana, where, 9 people from the group had ridden a boat in Ekgal Oya.

The boat has capsized and four of the group went missing while five others were rescued by the fishermen in the area

Bodies of the principal, a teacher and a student were discovered by the divers after about 8 hours of operation, the police say.

The search operation is still in progress to find the other missing person.
