* Sri Lanka OMP next meeting with families of missing in Jaffna & Kilinochchi

July 05, Colombo: The Office on Missing Persons (OMP) announced that it will be holding its next regional meeting in Jaffna and Kilinochchi.

The OMP will be holding its outreach meeting in Jaffna on Saturday, July 14 at the Weerasigham Hall and in Kilinochchi at the Co-operative Council on Sunday, July 15.

The OMP began its outreach program in May 2018 with meetings held in Mannar, Matara, Mullaitivu and Trincomalee.

The seven commissioners of the OMP met with families of the missing and disappeared, civil society organizations, activists working on the issue of disappearances, and the media, in order to share the OMP's organizational plan and strategies.

The meetings also facilitated the hearing of public views to incorporate their suggestions on the structure and operations of the OMP.
