* Sri Lanka increases fuel prices from midnight today

July 05, Colombo: Fuel prices will be increased with effect from midnight today, the Finance Ministry said.

Accordingly, price of a liter of 92 Octane petrol will be increased by Rs. 08 from current price of Rs. 137 to Rs. 145.

Price of a liter of Octane 95 petrol will be increased by Rs. 07 and the new price will be Rs. 155.

The price of diesel has been increased by Rs. 09 and the new price is Rs 118 per liter

The price of a liter of super diesel is increased by Rs. 10 to a new price of Rs. 129.

Sri Lanka recently introduced a special fuel pricing formula in par with the oil prices in the World Market as the government is heavily burdened with the rising cost of importing fuel.
