* Guinea-Bissau national arrested at Sri Lanka airport with Rs. 30 mn worth cocaine

Dec 15, Colombo: Sri Lanka Customs on Saturday arrested a foreign national at the Bandaranaike International Airport with a stock of cocaine worth Rs. 30 million.

The 28-year-old suspect is a businessman and has arrived at the Katunayake airport this afternoon from Guinea-Bissau.

The passenger has arrived from Nigeria to Doha, Qatar and from Doha on board a Qatar Airways flight to Colombo today.

Officers of Airport Anti-Narcotics Bureau of Customs have found 2 kilograms of cocaine in the suspect's possession. The cocaine was packed into four containers and carefully concealed was at the bottom of his luggage, Customs Media Spokesman said.

The raid was conducted by officers of the Anti-Narcotics Division. The suspect has been detained and a special investigation has been commenced. The Anti-Narcotics Bureau is conducting further investigations.
