* President to open Harvest 2018 agriculture exhibition today

Dec 11, Colombo: The Harvest 2018 Agriculture Exhibition organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of Sri Lanka will be opened today under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the BMICH in Colombo.

The Agriculture Exhibition from December 11th -16th will primarily focus on the modernization of Sri Lanka's agriculture sector and portray activities spearheaded by the "Agriculture Sector, Modernization Project" of the Ministry.

The exhibition is a professional agriculture event to showcase ground breaking innovating agriculture technology of the world to modernize the agriculture sector in Sri Lanka.

Many organizations representing both domestic and foreign agribusinesses will showcase their products and technology.

The objective of the exhibition is to introduce modern agro-technology to farmers in the agricultural sector. It is expected to generate high demand in the international market for vegetables, fruits and other crops in this country.

The exhibition will be a good opportunity to explore Sri Lankan agriculture materials for foreign buyers and also foreign suppliers to display agriculture materials and machinery.

The exhibition will be open to the public rom 9.00 am to 9.00 pm,free of charge.
