* New Director appointed for Terrorism Investigation Division

Dec 09, Colombo: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in charge of Jaffna Police division W S E Jayasundera has been appointed as the new Director of Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) of police.

IN addition to the TID, SSP Jayasundera has also been appointed as the Director of the Ministerial Co-ordination Division.

SSP Jayasundera has been appointed to fill the vacancy left behind by the arrest of former director of TID Deputy Inspector General Nalaka de Silva over the plot to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

Senior Superintendent of Police UPADKP has been appointed as the new officer in charge of the Jaffna Division, according to the Police Headquarters.

SSP Karunanayake was the Chief Administrative Officer of the National Police Training Institute.
