* Drunk driver kills three people in two separate accidents

Dec 09, Colombo: Three persons have died in two separate road accidents in Mount Lavinia and Ratmalana when a drunk motorist ran over several vehicles.

Police say seven others including two children sustained injuries in the accidents.

According to the police same vehicle driving towards Galle had caused both accidents.

A pedestrian was killed and another pedestrian sustained injuries in the accident reported opposite the Mount Lavinia Police Station.

In the other accident opposite a filling station in Ratmalana the vehicle has struck a car and a motorcycle killing the motorcyclist and the driver of the car. Four passengers in the car have sustained injuries.

The police have arrested the inebriated driver, who has also sustained injuries.

The injured have been admitted to the Kalubovila Hospital.

The Mount-Lavinia Police is conducting further investigations.
