* Sri Lanka reduces taxes on potatoes, big onion imports during festive season

Dec 03, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Ministry of Finance has announced that the import taxes on big onions and potatoes have been reduced to provide relief to the public during the festive season.

The special commodity levy on imported potatoes and big onions has been reduced from Rs. 40 to Rs. 20 per kilogram.

The revision of import taxes is effective from Monday, December 03.
