Sun, Dec 2, 2018, 09:20 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Dec 02, Colombo: The meeting that was scheduled to be held this evening between the President and the party representatives of the United National Front (UNF) has been postponed for Monday 8 pm, MP Mano Ganesan said.

The meeting aimed at finding a solution to end the month-long political crisis, is reportedly a continuation of the nearly two-hour long discussion held on last Friday (30), which has ended without reaching a solution.

ACMC leader MP Rishad Bathiudeen said he learned the meeting has been pushed to tomorrow 8pm as he arrived for the meeting. However, he expressed hope for a resolution tomorrow to the crisis. "We, ACMC are confident," he said.

Following the discussion on last Friday, MP Mano Ganesan, who participated in the meeting with the President, tweeted that the UNF leaders meeting with the President ended with "salient progress pending finalization" and another meeting is scheduled for Sunday.
