* Four fishermen from Chilaw go missing at sea

Aug 19, Colombo: Four fishermen who set out to sea in two boats from Wattakkalliya in Chilaw in early morning Saturday (18) have been reported missing, police said.

Chilaw police acting on two complaints received regarding the missing fishermen had launched an investigation.

The missing fishermen, aged 27, 29 and 33, are residents of Kawatiyawatta Wattakkalliya.

Meteorology Department yesterday warned the Naval and fishing communities of rough seas and high winds up to 70-80 kmph in western seas extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Colombo.

Chilaw police are conducting further investigations.
