* Minister Kiriella to attend former Indian Prime Minister's funeral

Aug 17, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Leader of the House and Public Enterprise & Kandy City Development Minister Lakshman Kiriella will represent Sri Lanka as the Special Envoy of the government at the funeral of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Delhi today.

Former Prime Minister Vajpayee, who was India's 10th Prime Minister, passed away yesterday at the age of 93 after a prolonged illness.

The last rites of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will take place at 4 pm today at Rashtriya Smriti Sthal in Delhi.

India's neighboring countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal are also sending their special representatives to attend the funeral of the former prime minister, ANI reported.
