* Suspect arrested with a priceless Valampuri conch shell

Aug 10, Colombo: Officers of the Habaraduwa Police Anti-Corruption Unit on information received by them have arrested a suspect yesterday (09) with a rare Valampuri conch shell in his possession in Akmeemana Walahanduwa, Pahalawatta area.

The extremely rare left-handed Valampuri conch shell with a lion face in the front and weighing 385 grams is priceless, the police say.

Police investigations have revealed that the suspect had received the conch shell from a resident of Colombo.

The Habaraduwa Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
