* Profood Propack & Agbiz Processed Food Exhibition 2018 opens in Colombo

Aug 04, Colombo: Profood Propack & Agbiz Processed Food Exhibition 2018 - the most comprehensive food, beverage and packaging exhibition - opened on Friday for the 17 successive year at the BMICH in Colombo.

The wide-ranged exhibition, organized by the Sri Lanka Food Processors Association covering areas such as Agriculture, Poultry, Livestock, Floriculture and many more income generating sectors is held under the theme "From the Farm to the Kitchen", from 3rd-5th August.

Sri Lanka Food Processors Association President Sarath Alahakoon along with Export Development Board Chairperson Indira Malwatte, inaugurated the exhibition.

The organizers for the 2018 edition have outlined numerous concurrent events to promote and market Pro Foods/Pro Pack &Agbiz, making it a must for all organizations involved in processed food, packaging & agriculture. A large number of Agriculture based products with new packaging trends will be showcased at this event.

As Sri Lanka's only Agriculture, Food & Packaging industry event, Pro Foods/Pro Pack &Agbiz will attract all stakeholders from the retail and wholesale Food/Beverage service sectors generating new connections and new business for everyone involved.

Pro Foods/Pro Pack &Agbiz 2018 will also cover areas such as Agriculture, Poultry, Livestock, Floriculture and many more income generating sectors.

The exhibition houses over 350 stalls, which have been allocated for the local and foreign manufacturers, and it is expected that the exhibition will attract over 30,000 visitors. Over 250 exhibiting companies from 20 countries are showcasing more than 1000 new products & services.

This year's expo has two separate pavilions for two of the largest global players in the industry; India and China. Over 120 companies from India and China took part at this year's event. A special delegation of over 50 companies was also brought down by ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chamber of Commerce in India).

The exhibition is open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
