* Sri Lanka Human Right Commission to make report on anti-Muslim violence in Kandy public

May 15, Colombo: Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) says the report on the investigations regarding the incidents of violence in Kandy will be made public soon.

The HRCSL said it held an inquiry in Kandy May from 9 -12 on violent incidents based on religious hatred that took place in Kandy District in March 2018.

The. Prior to the said inquiry, the Commission called for written submissions and evidence from the public regarding the incidents.

The commission said Chairperson and Commissioners conducted the inquiry and collected more than 100 written and oral testimonies regarding the incident

The HRCSL gathered information from the affected residents of the area and from state officials in Kandy.

The report based on the collected evidence will be made public in the near future, the HRCSL said.

If any individual's human rights have been violated during the incident, the linked individual and organizations will also be revealed through this report, according to the HRCSL.
