* Prime Minister emphasizes proper management and direction to achieve regional development targets

May 12, Colombo: Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today emphasized that proper management and direction are needed to achieve regional development targets.

The Premier made this observation after participating in several events held in Galle today to vest several development projects in Galle District with the public. The projects include District Secretariat building complexes, renovated and modernized divisional secretariat buildings as well.

Opening of four divisional secretariat buildings in the Galle District took place under the patronage of Prime Minister Wickremesinghe today.

The Premier declared open the newly constructed building complexes attached to Akmeemana, Habaraduwa, Hikkaduwa, and Gonapinuwala Divisional Secretariat Offices.

The Premier first opened the Habaraduwa Divisional Secretariat building. The project is implemented by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the program to modernize district and divisional secretariats.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe also opened the Akmeemana Divisional Secretariat Office which has been built with all facilities. The Prime Minister opened the new pipeline of Baddegama, Hikkaduwa and the Drinking Water Project in Gonapinuwala. The Project aims to provide drinking water to more people in the area.

Ministers Vajira Abeywardena, Gayantha Karunatilaka, Parliamentarians and Public Servants were present on the occasion.
