* UNP Ministers vow to defeat no-confidence motion against the PM
Tue, Mar 20, 2018, 11:46 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Mar 20, Colombo: The United National Party ministers today rallied behind their party leader and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and vowed to defeat the no-confidence motion to be tabled by the joint opposition against the PM in parliament.

Deputy Minister Ajith P Perera said that the no-confidence motion that has been brought by corrupt elements of the joint opposition will be defeated in Parliament. He added that no MP of the UNP will cast their vote in favor of the no-confidence motion.

The Deputy Minister said that there is no room for dividing the UNP and ascending to power through conspiracies.

Minister P Harrison said that though the opposition brought several no-confidence motions against the Ministers of the government in the past, nothing was successful. He added that the government is ready to trounce the no-confidence motion of the opposition.
