* All schools in Kandy district to reopen tomorrow

Mar 11, Colombo: All government schools in Kandy Administrative District which were closed on March 7 due to the unrest prevailed in parts of the district will reopen Monday (12), Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake said.

Meanwhile, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara yesterday (10) said the curfew will not be imposed in Kandy administrative district as situation has been peaceful.

The decision has been made considering the peaceful atmosphere existing in the Kandy district and that the area is fast returning to normalcy, the Police Spokesman said.

Police curfew was imposed within Kandy Administrative District on several occasions since last Wednesday due to the tense situation prevailed in Kandy since Sunday (4).

However, the Tri-forces and Police have been further deployed for the security of the residents and property, according to Police Media Unit.
