Sat, Mar 10, 2018, 10:43 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Mar 10, Colombo: The Police Department has decided not to impose the curfew in the Kandy Administrative District due to the prevailing peaceful atmosphere.

The police and tri-forces however will continue to be engaged in providing security in the district, the police said.

The police have arrested the persons who had caused the disturbances in the district.

The Police Department requests the public to inform the police if they know of any other persons involved in the riotous incidents.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also visited the Kandy area today and instructed the police and tri-forces to take appropriate actions against anyone disrupting peace.
