* British national drowns in sea off southern coast of Sri Lanka

Mar 08, Colombo: Sri Lanka police says a foreign national has drowned while bathing in the sea off the coast of Ahungalla in the South.

The police on Wednesday have received information that the foreign national went missing in the seas around 11 in the morning. His body was found later around 6:15 in the evening.

The deceased has been identified as a 76-year-old British national Michael John Curl.

The body is laying in the mortuary at the Elpitiya Hospital. Post-mortem will be conducted today, the police said.

Ahungalla Police is conducting further investigations.
