* Police Curfew re-imposed in Theldeniya and Pallekele, lifted in Kandy

Mar 06, Colombo: A Police curfew has been re-imposed for the Theldeniya and Pallekele areas with immediate effect until 6 pm Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the police curfew imposed in Kandy administrative district has been lifted as the situation is peaceful now. Police Media spokesman said the curfew was lifted from 6 am today.

A police curfew was imposed in the Administrative District of Kandy since yesterday afternoon due to the turbulent incident in Theldeniya, Kandy.

By now, the security has been strengthened in the area and the incident has been settled, the Police Spokesman further stated.

However, the Special Task Force (STF) Police and the Army personnel deployed in area to ensure law and order will remain.
