June 10, Colombo: The Deputy Leader of the UNP and Minister of Housing and Construction, Sajith Premadasa says the government's aim is to strengthen the economy of the people by creating new income sources through the Gam Udawa and Gamperaliya programs.

The Minister stated this at a function held to vest the Sinhanada Gama in Ambanpola in Kurunegala district in the public today (10).

This is the 78th model village vested with the public under the "Semata Sevana Yali Pibidena Uda Gammana" program. The village of Sinhanada Gama comprises of 25 homes built at a cost of Rs 33.1 million. The model village consists of all infrastructure facilities including water and electricity facilities, internal roads and access road.

Concurrent to the opening, a number of programs were implemented including the distribution of residential housing loans.

Deputy Minister Indika Bandaranayake also participated in this occasion.
