* Sri Lanka OMP to meet families of missing in Trincomalee on June 13

June 09, Colombo: The Office on Missing Persons (OMP) will be holding its next regional meeting in Trincomalee on Wednesday, June 13.

The newly-created OMP began its outreach program with public consultations on the 12th May in Mannar and held its second public meeting in Matara on May 19 and the third meeting in Mullaitivu on June 2.

The seven commissioners of the OMP met with families of the missing and disappeared, civil society organizations, activists working on the issue of disappearances, and the media, in order to share the OMP's organizational plan and strategies.

The meetings also facilitated the hearing of public views and in order to incorporate their suggestions on the structure and operations of the OMP.

The meeting in Trincomalee will be held at the Hindu Cultural Hall (in front of the Governor's Office, (down Inner Harbor Road). The meeting will be structured as follows:

10:00 am - 12.30 pm: Families of the missing and disappeared from Trincomalee

12.30 pm - 01.00 pm: Media

01.00 pm - 02.30 pm: Civil society organizations
