Jan 13, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy, which regularly takes the lead in protection of marine resources, partnering with the Sri Lanka Coast Guard conducted an oil spill management exercise on Thursday (11) in the seas off Kankasanthurai harbor.

The exercise was conducted under the guidance of Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva.

During the exercise over 40 naval personnel belonging to both the Navy and Coast Guard conducted rehearsals and exercises to test the capabilities of the stakeholders during an oil spill.
