* Two fishermen killed in boat-ship collision in southern sea

Jan 10, Colombo: Two fishermen were killed and two others sustained injuries when a multi-day fishing boat collided with a ship in the seas of Devundara in the South, the Navy sources said.

The multi-day fishing boat carrying six fishermen has collided with a vehicle carrier ship approaching the Hambantota Port.

One of the six fishermen is still missing while the Navy personnel have rescued three others.

The injured and the dead fishermen are to be brought to the Galle harbor.

Search missions and further investigations are currently underway.
