* Attacker on ex-LTTE spokesman Daya Master arrested

Jan 09, Colombo: The Jaffna Police have arrested the suspect in connection with the assault on the former media spokesman of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Daya Master, in Jaffna last night, police said.

Daya Master who is also the Media Director of DAN TV, a private television channel in Jaffna was assaulted in his office at the Hospital Road. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The 53-year-old suspect, Moses Sathgunada is, a resident of Jaffna. He was in possession of a sharp weapon when he was arrested, Police said.

Police have produced the suspect, in court today.

Jaffna police are carrying out further investigations based on the CCTV footages.
