* Large scale Kerala Cannabis dealer arrested in Galewela

Apr 22, Colombo: A large scale racketeer who brings Kerala Cannabis to Galewela from Jaffna and sells wholesale and retail in Galewela was arrested by a team of Dambulla Police Special Task Force (STF) in the Enamalpotha area in Galewela on Saturday with two kilograms of cannabis.

Commanding Officer of the Dambulla Special Task Force, Chief Inspector Lal Jayathilaka said the suspect is doing the business of selling cannabis at a local cemetery and the police arrested the suspect when was preparing to sell 2 kilograms of Kerala Cannabis to an undercover agent.

The STF police team also seized the suspect's motorcycle.

Police say that the residents have informed the Dambulla STF officers that the suspect very skillfully was engaged in selling Kerala Ganja in wholesale and retail for a long time and accordingly, the police used a STF team to arrest the suspect.

The suspect has been identified as Sathardeen Jelabdeen (57), a resident of Elamalpotha area of Galewela.

This was the first time the police was able to arrest this person although he was engaged in dealing Kerala Cannabis for a long time.
