* Police seize stock of illegally imported foreign liquor

Apr 13, Colombo: The police have seized over 1000 bottles of foreign liquor in a container that has been brought without paying Customs duties.

The container was found at the Egodawatte area in Maharagama, during a raid conducted by the Special Task Force (STF) police on a tip off received.

In addition to the liquor bottles a large quantity of medicines have also been seized during the raid.

The person who brought the container to the country has also been taken into police custody.
