Sept 05, Colombo: President Maithripala Sirisena Tuesday made an observation visit to Nelum Kuluna which is being constructed as the highest building in Sri Lanka.
The President had cordial discussions with the engineers and gave them instructions to make the construction activities efficient.
The construction of the tower which will be 350m high will be completed by March, next year. The tower has three stories dedicated to shopping malls. Restaurants, event halls and may other amenities.
The President also undertook an inspection tour at the building complex which is being constructed as Headquarters of Sri Lanka military at Akuregoda, Pelawatta.
The President who inquired about the progress of the project, instructed the officials to complete the construction work expeditiously.
He also advised the officials to streamline the possible shortcomings after discussing with relevant stakeholders. He also had cordial discussions with the engineers.
Army Commander Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake and Secretary to the President Austin Fernando also joined the President in this visit.
