* Chairman of the Litro Gas Company removed following arrest

Oct 11, Colombo: The Secretary to the Ministry of Public Enterprise Development Ravindra Hewavitharana has informed the chairman of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Hemaka Amarasooriya to take necessary action to suspend all powers N.M.S. Munasinghe held as chairman of the Litro Gas Company.

In a circular, the Secretary informed that the Litro Gas Chairman was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on charges of financial fraud and produced before the court.

Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation was advised to suspend all powers of Munasinghe held as the executive chairman until the relevant investigations and judiciary process are completed and to take steps to immediately appoint an acting chairman to fill the vacancy.

The Litro Gas Company is administered by the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation.
