* Five Chinese nationals arrested with illegal cigarettes

Oct 10, Colombo: Five Chinese nationals who had attempted to smuggle in foreign cigarettes have been arrested by the police officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake yesterday.

The Airport Police said that the haul of cigarettes included 355 cigarette packets (7100 cigarettes) of various foreign brands.

The five arrested Chinese nationals were due to be produced in the Minuwangoda Magistrate's Court.

The Katunayake Airport Police have commenced further investigations into the incident.
