* Government launches program to grant one million land deeds to people

Oct 08, Colombo: A program to grant one million land deeds to people was launched yesterday (07) with the participation of Minister of Lands and Parliamentary Reforms Gayantha Karunathilake on the invitation of Minister of Law and Order and Southern Development, Sagala Ratnayake at the Auditorium of Divisional Secretariat at Pitabaddara.

Under the program implemented by the Ministry of Lands, A workshop was held to identify suitable land owners, who are already settled in the lands of the Land Reform Commission, in order to provide permanent deeds for the lands.

Chairman of Land Reforms Commission Dr. Sampath Subhasinghearachchi, Executive Director, Divisional Secretary and several others were present at the event.

The Land Reform Commission is entrusted with the National Program for the allocation of one million land deeds. The main event to hand over permanent land deeds to those who are already settled in the lands belonged to the Land Reforms Commission will be held in Deniyaya on the 03rd November under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
