* Police arrest 41 suspects in connection with attacks in Jaffna

Nov 19, Colombo: The police say 41 suspects were arrested in connection with the attacks that took place in Jaffna. The police headquarters states that three teams have been deployed to apprehend those involved.

Several violent incidents were reported from Kopai and Manipai areas recently Investigations are being carried out under the supervision of Senior DIG of the Northern Province under the directions of the Inspector general of police Pujith Jayasundera.

Six suspects were arrested earlier, in this regard and search operations are being carried out in Kopai, Manipai Jaffna and Chunnakam police divisions.

Several people had been injured recently in Jaffna in attacks by the gangs wielding sharp weapons and swords.
