* Fuel tanker Neverska Lady arrives in Colombo Port

Nov 08, Colombo: The much anticipated Fuel tanker 'Neveska Lady' has entered the Sri Lankan territorial waters by now and reaching the Colombo Port, state TV reported short while ago. It is expected to dock at the port around 1:30 a.m. local time Thursday.

The tanker is carrying a stock of 40,000 MT of petrol to Colombo from Jebel Ali Port in the UAE to immediately resolve the prevailing fuel crisis in the island.

However, it will take another two days to unload the cargo, the port officials said.

The Minister of Petroleum Resources Development Arjuna Ranatunga said the petroleum crisis will completely be resolved by Thursday (09).

Meanwhile, a fuel tanker from India carrying 21,000 MT of petrol is also expected to arrive in the next few days.
