* Three-year plan to develop Trincomalee Harbor

July 24, Colombo: Minister of Ports and Shipping Mahinda Samarasinghe who visited the Trincomalee Harbor recently said measures have been taken to implement a three-year plan for the development of the Trincomalee harbor.

He added that the three-year plan aims to identify a land of about 10,000 hectares belonging to the harbor for the development plan. The land would be gazetted and utilized for the future development of the harbor.

The current four terminals of the harbor will also be developed for commercial purposes, the Minister disclosed.
