Dec 28, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena today pledged to lead his government and the party to build a "clean and pure political culture" for the future of the nation.

Speaking at a ceremony to launch The 'Pledge for Freedom' for good governance free of fraud and corruption, the President said he will not consider political differences or relative relationships in his journey to build a clean government and a political culture.

Expressing his views, President Sirisena said that through the local government election the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), which is led by him, expects to create a sincere, novel political faction which does not bow down to the fraud, corruption and waste.
