Dec 28, Colombo: Galle District United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian Piyasena Gamage has been appointed as the State Minister of Law and Order and Southern Development.

He was sworn in as the State Minister before President Maithripala Sirisena at the President's Official Residence, today (28).

Gamage, a former minister, was recently appointed to the seat left vacant by the departure of UPFA MP Geetha Kumarasinghe after the Supreme Court disqualified her from holding her parliament member post as she held a dual citizenship.
