* President appoints 20 SLFP district organizers

Dec 02, Colombo: President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed 20 new organizers of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and they received their appointment letters from the President on Saturday at the President's official residence.

The President has appointed Sarath Gamini Hettiarachchi as the as the Kandy District Organizer of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party he received the appointment letter from the President today.

Sarath Gamini Hettiarachchi, who has been a former Mayor of the Gampola Municipal Council representing the United National Party (UNP) and later joined the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA), met President Sirisena this morning at the President's official residence and joined the SLFP.

Hettiarachchi has been an active member of the Joint Opposition during last few years.

In addition, 19 new organizers appointed as district organizers of Sri Lanka Freedom Party also received their appointment letters from the President.
