* Rs 28 billion worth health projects next year

Aug 16, Colombo: Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne says the government will invest Rs 28 billion next year to develop the health sector.

Addressing a meeting at the Veediya Bandara Vidyalaya in Morapitiya recently, the Minister said that already the cabinet has approved these projects and will be submitted for next year's budget.

Once these projects are implemented it will ease the congestion at hospitals as neighboring hospitals will be developed.

Plans have been made to establish children’s, cancer, maternity, new births ward complexes as well as stores and clinics.
