Aug 08, Colombo: A Sri Lankan court today refused to grant bail to the driver of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa Captain Tissa Wimalasena and extended his remand.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Chanima Wijayabandara rejected the bail application of Captain Wimalasena and further remanded him until 10th September.

When the bail application was taken up before the court today, the Additional Magistrate refused to grant bail saying that there are no exceptional circumstances to release him on bail.
