Mar 21, Colombo: Ceylon Tea, being among the most recognized tea brands in the world, was one of the most popular items for the German visitors who visited the Sri Lanka Pavilion at ITB 2017 held last week in Berlin.

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau organized an exclusive Tea Promotional Boutique at the ITB with three Sri Lankan tea hostesses. Over 4,000 visitors visited the Ceylon Tea Boutique during the five day promotional campaign, the Bureau said.

John Amaratunga, Minister of Tourism Development of Sri Lanka and P.M. Withana, the Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau joined other German invitees including Jürgen Klimke and Michael Donth at the ceremonious opening of the Ceylon Tea Boutique on 8th March 2017.

Visitors for the tea boutique were introduced into several varieties of Ceylon tea and were given the opportunity to touch and smell different tea selections. The visitors were also given the choice to enjoy a cup of Ceylon tea of their choice.

Going alone with the Government's vision for joint promotional efforts the Sri Lanka Mission in Germany has taken the leadership in coordinating Sri Lanka tea promotion at the ITB 2017.
