* Sri Lanka national carrier activates Communicable Disease Procedures on Malé flights
Sat, Mar 18, 2017, 11:05 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Mar 18, Colombo: Sri Lanka's national carrier SriLankan Airlines today announced that the airline has activated Communicable Disease Procedures on its flights that are operating in and out of Malé.

The measure was taken in the wake of the outbreak of the swine flu epidemic in the Maldives Islands and its Health Protection Agency's (HPA) travel advice to the general public to restrict movements.

"Accordingly the crew will be wearing face masks and will provide a face mask to any passenger who requests one to wear during a flight," the airline said in a statement.

The national carrier further stated that these proactive measures have been taken in the best interest of all passengers and crew.
