* Sri Lanka business chamber presents workshop on Import Procedures and Documentation

Mar 14, Colombo: The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) will hold a one-day workshop on Import Procedures and Documentation to benefit the importers.

The NCCSL in association with Sri Lanka Customs will hold the workshop on Thursday 30 March from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the National Chamber Auditorium at D R Wijewardene Mawatha, Colombo 10.

According to the organizers, workshop is for everyone involved in importing, buying and sourcing from overseas. Mr. T Raviendrarajah, Deputy Director of Customs who has over 33 years of experience in various departments of Sri Lanka Customs will be the resource person.

Those involved in sourcing goods from overseas, including sales, purchasing, production and accounts staff as well as senior managers delegating responsibilities will benefit from the workshop.

Among the courses that will be offered are Introduction to Imports, Customs Imports Procedures and Documentation Codes, Clearance of Commercial Cargo through Customs, Determining Imports Requirements, Classification of Imports Documents, Proof of Country of Origin, Imports, Agreement of Payment Terms, Planning Sea Cargo and Air Cargo, Sales Contracts, Free Trade Agreements, Imports Restrictions Payment Terms with regard to Imports, Customs Tariff and understanding of Commodity Codes, and other relevant areas.
