June 18, Colombo Sri Lankan President: President Maithripala Sirisena has assured to take immediate measures complete the requirements of the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) in Angoda.
During an observation tour to the IDH on Saturday (June 17), the President noted the congestion at the hospital with a large number of dengue patients, and directed the officials to ensure the service of the specialist doctors to the patients, who were sent to other hospitals due to the congestion at the IDH.
The congestion at the hospital due to the admission of large number of Dengue patients was alleviated somewhat after sending some patients to the hospitals in Thalangama, Vethara and Piliyandala with required facilities.
President Sirisena also observed the ward complex of the hospital and had cordial discussions with the patients.
He met the hospital staff and inquired about any other requirements of the hospital.
Minister of Health Rajitha Senaratne and the Director of the hospital Dimuthu Ratnayake joined the President in this observation.
