* Sri Lanka Navy nabs suspect with 142 kg of Kerala Cannabis

June 16, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy jointly with the Police on Friday has arrested an individual transporting 142 kg of Kerala cannabis (Kerala Ganja) in the North.

On receipt of information to the Navy, a group of naval personnel attached to the North Western Naval Command in coordination with Police Narcotic division of Mannar has arrested the suspect when he was transporting the contraband on a motor bike in Marichchikatti, Karadakkuliya beach area in Silawathurai today.

The suspect along with the motor bike and the stock of cannabis was handed over to the District Toxic Drug Unit, Mannar for onward legal action, the Navy Media Unit said.
