* Sri Lankan Minister urges authorities to clean capital city within four days

June 15, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake urged the relevant authorities to take immediate measures to remove waste accumulated in the capital city of Colombo within four days.

He said if necessary government should seek the help of the tri-forces to resolve the waste problem in the city.

The minister made these remarks addressing the public at an event held to lay the foundation stone for a new building at Kanapathi Hindu Girls College in Kotahena.

Speaking at the occasion, the Minister said the disposal of the waste is a persistent issue and emphasized that public should not suffer due to the conflict of opinion between the public institutions.

Minister Karunanayake said that he has informed the President and the Prime Minister regarding this problem. Therefore, the relevant authorities should take the support of the Tri-forces to clean the city.
