July 16, Colombo: United National Party Parliamentarian Bandula Lal Bandarigoda says defeated political groups are engaged in conspiracy to destabilize the government.

Addressing a media briefing at the UNP headquarters, Sirikotha today the MP said undemocratic protests initiated by the Joint Opposition are preventing international investors coming into the country and they will not be allowed to destabilize the government through undemocratic protests.

He said that the Joint Opposition's aim is to come in to power by destroying the future of the country.

Parliamentarian Bandarigoda said the defeated politicians with the aim of protecting their families took various steps since the unity Government was elected.

He charged that these factions attempt to halt foreign investments to the country by portraying the government as unsuccessful but the Central Bank report says that the country's economy is becoming stabilized after 2016.

He added that as back-benchers of the Parliament they would protect the President, the Prime Minister and the Government.
