* Sri Lanka Navy finds 28 kg stock of abandoned Kerala cannabis on northern beach

Jan 12, Colombo: Sri Lankan Navy personnel have recovered a stock of 'Kerala Ganja' abandoned on the northern coast after spotting some of the consignment drifting in water while some were left on the shore.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Agbo located in Madagal in Northern Naval Command recovered 28 kg of Kerala Cannabis from Kusumanthurei Beach area on Wednesday (11), the Navy said.

Out of the total consignment, 5 kg were abandoned at the beach and another 23 kg were seized while they were adrift in waters.

It is suspected that the contraband was left behind when detecting the naval personnel patrolling in the area.

The arrested haul of cannabis was produced to Kankasanthurai Police for onward legal action.
