* No change in US visa policy for Sri Lanka
Mon, Feb 13, 2017, 10:07 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Feb 13, Colombo: The Embassy of the United States of America to Sri Lanka today announced that the new U.S. administration has not made any changes to the current visa policy for Sri Lanka.

The U.S. Embassy in Colombo rejected all media reports which claimed to the contrary.

"US visa policy in regards to Sri Lanka has NOT changed. Rumors to the contrary are false," the Embassy said in social media.

Several media reports recently published said the U.S. President Donald Trump had signed a visa-free travel policy for Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is not among the countries in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program (VWP), which enables nationals of certain countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business for stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa.

The embassy directed the Sri Lankan applicants to the webpage on applying for a visa.
