* Sri Lankan court further remands former minister

May 11, Colombo: A Sri Lankan court today further remanded the former Co-operatives and Internal Trade Minister of Sri Lanka Johnston Fernando.

The Kurunegala Magistrate's Court today remanded Fernando till the 25th of this month.

Fernando was arrested by the Financial Crime Investigation Division (FCID) of police on May 5th over alleged financial irregularities at the state-owned wholesale network Lanka Sathosa during his tenure as the Co-operatives and Internal Trade Minister.

Fernando and the former Chairman of Lanka Sathosa were refused bail by courts today.
