Jan 14, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Minister of Housing and Samurdhi Sajith Premadasa said today a massive housing program as well as a poverty alleviation program will be launched within the next 100 days.
The Minister said the poverty alleviation programme is enriched with systematic measures to eradicate poverty and the housing program will provide houses to people without houses. Frauds and wastage will be eliminated from both programs, Minister Premadasa said.
He sought guidance of the intellectuals with experience to implement the programs with vigor and equality to grant justice for all.
Minister Premadasa said this afternoon he visited the residence of Mr. Sirisena Cooray who was the closest associate of the development programme of his father, late President Ranasinghe Premadasa seeking his blessing and guidance for the programs.
The Minister also said the aim of the new government is to unleash a development era according to the expectations of the people. Minister Premadasa added that he will engage in duties at his Ministry under the guidance of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe.
